it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Within my Career Exploration/Career Planning program, my students learn job and life skills as they serve their community. Part of the work they do involves collecting and distributing a large volume of donated food, hygiene products, and other essential goods to fellow students and community members. These donations not only contribute significantly to the physical, emotional, and mental health of those we serve but also motivate and inspire my students to take their work and their educations seriously. The work we do has a huge impact on the wellness of others, and also adds a deeper meaning an purpose to what my student's are learning in class.
One of the biggest challenges we're faced with is limited space for storing and processing our donations.
Sometimes this means we are forced to store our products outside for long periods of time. The resources I requested will support my students' learning by empowering them to help others and more effectively utilize the limited space we have to store our donations safely. This will save us a lot of additional labor and frustration and allow us to focus on getting donations to those in need.
All of the requested resources will be used to improve and expand our outdoor storage area, so that we can protect our donations from the elements, pests, and damage. Being able to safely store these donated products will prevent them from going to waste and allow us to better serve those we are trying to help.
