Help me give my students access to the world with individual and large maps!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Neal's classroom raised $239

My Students
Each day, first graders depend on me to teach them how to read, write, and obtain problem-solving skills that will be the foundation of their education. These students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Their families qualify for free lunch and often do not have the means to provide literature, manipulatives, and other educational tools at home. So, I feel it is my role to provide them with rich learning experiences on a day to day basis.
Due to their backgrounds and limitations in resources at home, my students often enter elementary school significantly behind their more affluent peers.
My Project
My students have rarely traveled outside of our city, let alone our state! Some have a very limited view of the world and where things are on a map.
These individual and classroom maps will give students the visuals to help them start to build an understanding of the world around them.
With their own map in front of them for exploration, students will begin to learn more about geography and the difference between states, countries, and continents. They will learn where they are in the world and maybe even be inspired to dream about where they will go in their future!
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
