This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology plays a vital role in today’s classrooms. Using it to help students access the curriculum and keep them engage is vital.

My students are kindergarten children who attend a school where 100% qualify for assisted meals at school.

They are eager learners and have shown motivation by entering the dual language program. The program intends to make fluent speakers and readers in Spanish and English. My students are motivated to learn but they lack access to see the lesson, books and pictures. Children at that age need visual examples to help them learn but most books and workbooks have small print. Kindergarten students need large representation in order to better follow the lesson.

My Project

My project: My students will be able to see clearly with the help of a document camera and an LCD projector. They will be able to see the workbook, to follow the writing assignments and to see videos in large format. I envision that with the camera and projector, students will be able to better follow detail instructions on completing letter and number formation and worksheets. Students of that age have difficulty tracking and following the lesson but this technology will help them see what they have been missing. In addition I can show videos that will help them enrich their understanding of the lesson and everyone in the crowded classroom will be able to see. Please help me bring access to learning to our students.

At this age, images can have a greater impact on them than anything they might hear. Help them capture those images by donating a camera and and LCD projector to their class.
