This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students often feel overwhelmed and anxious about their financial future. They think achieving wealth is exclusively the privilege of the educated, intelligent, and affluent. I tell them that this is not true—quite the opposite. I cite examples given by Morgan Housel in his book The Psychology of Money. I mention the janitor from rural Vermont, Ronald Read, who invested in stocks throughout his life and became a millionaire when he retired. Never in the history of the Stock Market has the individual investor had so much access to financial freedom.

Help me bring hope to my students.

Having a set of the Psychology of Money books in my classroom will help me convince my pupils that the American Dream is possible for everyone who is disciplined and patient with their money.
