I teach kindergarten in a small rural public school serving 250 students. There are 22 beautiful smiling faces that greet me at my door every morning. It is so much fun to teach kindergarten. My students are all excited to learn new things.
My students deserve the very best and I want learning to be fun, engaging and comfortable.
We love reading under tables, working with our partners in little corners, and enjoy choosing the best learning nook each day. It is hard for anyone to sit on the floor or at a table all day! They love adventure and are excited to see what the day may hold.
Kindergarten is the first exposure to full time school for lots of my students and making learning fun, engaging and comfortable is very important.
My Project
It is my hope that I can help them achieve this by creating the most comfortable and least restrictive room possible for them. I want to provide them with the most that I can. I want them to love being at school. They are in need of flexible seating. Six wobbly stools will help students during guided reading time and as another option to sit at their table. I also would like six bouncy ball chairs. These students can get out all their wiggles while they work.
They will take pride in their work and they will know they can achieve anything they put their mind too!
Kindergarten students do not like sitting in chairs all day long. They want to have a choice to complete their work in a engaging and comfortable way.
