My Students
In order to graduate high school in New York, students must pass a series of state exams, called the Regents. It is my job to ensure that these students pass the United States History Regents exam at the end of this school year.
I teach at a school where a vast majority of my students receive free or reduced lunch--they lack the monetary resources to purchase a review book of their very own in order to study for this high-stakes exam.
A majority of my students are recent immigrants or designated as English Language Learners (ELL). My students are all juniors in high school; the end is near and graduation is just below the horizon. I would like to do what I can to ensure that they move on to their senior years.
My Project
Your donation will ensure that two of my classes will have a review book of their very own to take home and study with. Just something as simple as looking up important facts from this review book so that they can write compelling essays for my class would surely provide them with the competitive advantage necessary in order to pass this high-stakes exam.
