Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of my students receives SPED services by qualifying; however, each student is unique and special with multiple strengths and gifts. They also have areas of need which can often be related to self-regulation of their behaviors when they become stressed or agitated, and struggle with coping skills. The benefit of having a calming center for students, to provide a safe space for them to de-escalate and take a much needed break before resuming their tasks or assignments, or completing a work product is immeasurable.
Help my kids receive the kind of all encompassing hug and love they so richly deserve by the creation of a targeted environment!
As I work to meet their individual needs, both academic and social-emotional, the option of allowing the students to gain control over their emotions in a responsible, age-appropriate manner is imperative for long-term mental health and wellness. It is a gift they will carry with them throughout their life.
