Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have quite a few obstacles to overcome but they are up for the challenge! They attend a Title 1 school in a low socioeconomic area. Many of them eat both breakfast and lunch at school and this may be their only meals for the day. Some of them have been exposed to much more than any 7 year old should ever see.
Despite all the challenges they face, they come to school ready to learn!
They have fun at school and try to exceed my expectations all the time! They absolutely love reading! It is one of my passions and they have been infected with my excitement. Another one of my passions is integrating technology into my teaching. My students have taken to this like second nature. I am so proud to be their teacher, and I am looking forward to doing all I can to helping them reach all of their goals in second grade.
My Project
Headphones are now considered an essential school supply. Technology has advanced into the classroom. Students are now expected to complete their work on the computer, either in the classroom or from home. Headphones are now essential to help keep students focused on their work. Working in the classroom or from home can be a loud work environment. Headphones can help block out unnecessary noise and help my students attend to their work. Unfortunately this school supply needs to be replaced yearly and it is not an easy supply to replenish. Help my students hear and learn!
