This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The bean bag chairs will allow the students to have a comfy place to come in, sit, and be able to debrief and refocus. The painting supplies are for group offerings for the students who are currently dealing with emotional distress. Painting has been proven to assist in de-escalating students and helping them calm down in an artistic therapeutic manner.
This generation of middle schoolers have had many concerns with emotional, social distress.
These supplies will be used to implement coping strategies that could last a lifetime.
Having a safe space is key to mental health concerns that our students are currently facing.
