Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Do you remember being in kindergarten? Where was most of your time spent? My kindergarten students and I spend most of our day gathered together on the floor. Learning is much more effective for them on the floor than it would be sitting in tables.

My students attend an urban charter school in Missouri where almost all of the students are on free and reduced price lunch.

My students are extremely energetic and eager to learn but have a very hard time keeping their hands to themselves without a carpet with a designated square for each student.

My Project

My students need a carpet where they can each have their own square. This will encourage them to take ownership of their square and remind them that they need to keep their hands to themselves and in their own area. This will drastically increase the effectiveness of our learning time and will allow us to all learn together in a comfortable spot. Students will not be so easily distracted by others with this new carpet and will be able to reach their full potential in my kindergarten class!

Please help my students learn as much as possible in kindergarten this year!

Having this carpet will make a drastic difference in my classroom, and your donation will help show them that there are people out there who care about them and their education!
