I am a second-grade teacher. Our school is an inner-city public school where nearly all students come from low-income households. Many of the children need extra help to become fluent readers. My students greatly benefit from online reading programs.
In our school, some children do not come to school with the basic supplies.
I would love to provide them some supplies to make their writing more exciting and colorful. New personal books make a world of difference!
My Project
My students love learning especially when there is art involved! We could really use basic supplies like scissors and glue to create an art component to our writing projects. We also could use sentence strips and a pocket chart to sequence directions for the writing activities. I chose a nice eye-catching color chart to show my class.
It would be great to also have a behavior management chart to show students solidly where their behavior stands for each day, Remember that each day is a fresh start.
The reward and consequence system really works well for my second graders.
