My Project
Many of my students learn about the history of BIPOC people through a state curriculum that is Eurocentric. This type of curriculum only focuses on BIPOC people when they are being oppressed. I have supplemented the curriculum to have students learn more than just what the state wants them to know for our state test, but I would like to provide students more.
These books were specifically picked to help uplift and empower my students of color.
They are a mix of different genres but all in the end are there to make my students feel seen and have the story be focused on them and their experiences. Please help me provide this outlet to my students as I build a library for them!
