Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our center is an all preschool building. My classroom is a blended classroom with students with special needs mixed with general education students. I have an AM and PM class of 20 students; 6 of which have special needs and the other 14 students are Preschool For All students.
My students, like any 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, learn through play and love hands-on learning!
I get the amazing opportunity to have students in my class for 2 to 3 years before they move onto kindergarten. Each and every student is eager to learn about new topics each day through play and hands-on learning.
My Project
My students love to play in my STEM center in the classroom. Unfortunately, materials are scarce and the STEM materials that we do have are already becoming boring to play with. My students have played with the same few materials for weeks, and need something new and exciting to help them find their love for learning again. With these new additions, I know that our STEM center will once again become the most fun center to learn and play in. With the new STEM cabinet to organize all our materials, the students will have better access to the materials in order to further their STEM learning!
