Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are coming from Clayton County. The areas is a Title one district which means the federal government is providing extra funding because the area is considered to have a high number of low income families. Our entire student population receives free lunch and breakfast.

Our students are as gifted and talented as students anywhere.

I want to provide them the best learning opportunities they can get. Hand on labs will help bring the science to life. Engaging our students with real science equipment will help them reach their full potential.

My Project

The lab kits will allow the students to have hands on experiences. Typically if science equipment is short I will have to do a demonstration for the class. While it does expose the students to the content it is not as effective as them doing it them for themselves.

These hands on activities will help bring the science to life and hopefully inspire my students to become champions of the environment.

One of my main goals in Environmental Science is inspire the students to find the small changes they can make to make the world a better place. One small act can cause a large ripple.
