My Project
In the past, my students have loved using summer language bags over the summer to practice their language skills. These bags allow them to play with materials including books, Play-doh, puppets, reusable sticker pads and craft supplies while practicing their language skills. The hope is that they can enjoy playing with the materials so much that they don't realize they're also keeping up with their speech and language skills that we've practiced all year.
This year we were lucky enough to have a project funded to get the materials needed for the majority of my students, but with new students joining our group this spring for everyone to have the materials we need to add a few more puppets, reusable sticker pads and tote bags!
The students also love decorating the tote bags, so they can make it their own. With fabric markers they can add their name and pictures of whatever they want to make their bags extra special!
