My students need privacy boards so they can keep focused, concentrate, and keep their answers private during tests.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have super second graders who work hard and are eager to show what they know! We do a lot of student partner work in class and sometimes it is tempting to check in with a neighbor during tests or be distracted by a fidgeting neighbor. Having privacy boards would help my students stay focused.
My students are dreamers and achievers.
I want them to show all they know! Although the students from my school come from a socio-economically disadvantaged neighborhood with more than 90% on free or reduced meal programs, they have a lot of heart and pride. Everyday, I am inspired by their generosity, kindness, and desire to learn and create. I know they are our future and I tell them everyday to be leaders and do-ers. We need hard working creative achievers who can help the world solve big problems- people like my students!
My Project
The privacy boards help students focus better on the task at hand. My students are encouraged to be social in the classroom and interact with their partners so it is sometimes difficult to make the transition from interactive learning to focused assessments.
The privacy boards are tools to help my emerging learners focus, do their best, and show what they know.
With students sitting right next to each other in class, it is important to provide a measure of privacy during testing.
