Help my student to De-compress in a HEALTHY manner.

Help me give my students a safe outlet to relieve stress. Given that we are still very much in the midst of a pandemic, we have some very anxious (and at times depressed) young people.

FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Goldsbury's classroom raised $303

My Students

Our students come from all over the city of Boston, each with a unique story to tell. They are creative, funny, hardworking, and brutally honest. Although they are physically back in school, so many of them carry with them the trauma of 18 months at home. I wish I could say schools have made accommodations for this by reducing workload and giving fewer standardized tests. Sadly, the think the opposite has been true. In the name of addressing the virtuous-sounding "learning loss", we have piled stress on top off stress, and we have some very anxious (and at times depressed) young people.

I keep fidgets in my office and they have been VERY popular this year.

However, there is not enough to go around. Sometimes I loan them out and they never come back. I think every student should have their own. My project is intended to do just that - provide a fidget to every student who demonstrates need.

Several research studies have confirmed what many people have experienced through fidgeting: Their ability to pay attention, their memory recall, and their problem-solving skills. Will you join me in supporting the mental health of my young people?
