This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The glare created by the fluorescent lights in my kindergarten class makes it so hard for my kids to see-- not only the information on the board, but the print on the pages they work on as well. Help us stop squinting and improve our learning!

My kindergarten classroom is located in a small neighborhood school in central California.

Our school represents half of our small school district. Many of the children are learning to speak English. The best description of the kiddos in my room would be high-octane. They have boundless energy and are so excited about learning new things. I strive to make our classroom a warm and safe place where each of use strive to do our best daily. Our rules are simple: Care, share, and be fair. Wouldn't the world be a better place if all adults would do the same?

My Project

While we are blessed to work in a great school, the lighting in our classroom is a major barrier to my kindergartners' learning. Often times the glare created by the numerous flickering fluorescent lights makes is difficult for these young learners to reach their fullest potential. These filters will reduce the glare, which will in turn allow the kids to have better access to learning.

The filters will not only help the kids currently enrolled in my classroom, but the countless others who will be visiting me in the future.

You contribution will touch so many kindergarteners and allow them to create a firm foundation on which to build their educational careers. It all begins will being able to "SEE" what we are learning! Thank you in advance for your generous donation and for helping my kiddos reach their fullest potential!
