By 5th grade, students should be able to work independently on various assignments. For students with disabilities, this is not always possible. With your help, my students can work towards self-sufficiency and independence.
My 7 wonderful and inspiring students come from a variety of backgrounds.
The only things that they have all have in common is that they were diagnosed with a disability that makes learning more difficult than their peers. These students have come to rely on adults to guide and help them in various learning situations.
Our school is located on a U.S. Naval base in Louisiana. Frequently, my students have or will spend time without one or more parents because their parents have chosen to defend our country. Please give back to my students, as they give up so much for us.
My Project
By funding this project you will help my students in various areas. First and foremost, you will help my amazing students become fluent in math skills. My students will be able to practice their math facts independently and collaboratively in a fun and exciting way. You will also help build independence and self-confidence. Frequently, students with disabilities develop poor self-esteem because they feel that work is too hard to complete or that they are "just not good at it". With these various mathematical self-checking games, my students will be given the opportunities to flourish academically and emotionally.
If you choose to donate to our project, you will help me create life long learners.
You will help these young children feel success for one of the 1st times in their educational experience. You have the power to make these kids' day, week, month, and school year. But, these students will not be the only students to benefit from your generosity. Next year's bunch will be just as lucky and successful!
