Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are Beginning English Learners who need support and reward to improve their skills. Each student has been living in the United States for less six months and require small group English instruction. Many of these kids have gaps in learning and require direct instruction in English. They are hardworking and resilient which is why I love teaching this ELL population
Through building relationships, creating rigor, and providing rewards they will continue to improve in English speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
I plan to use these items as incentives, to provide additional speaking opportunities and for classroom management.
All these items will help enrich the experience of my students.
The one inch binders will be used for organization.The basketball hoop will be used for review games. The stickers will be used as positive reinforcement. The magnetic poetry will be used for grammar. The pencils and markers will be used for creative projects and assignments. The Dr. Zues books, easy reader, and sight word flash cards will help my student increase reading skills. The three tone chime will allow me to make transitions easier. The ELL speaking games will increase my ability to keep speaking English fun and exciting. Thank you for your support.
