My students need PLAY-DOH and Super Tools to design and create extraordinary things while exercising their little hands. They also need a drying rack to dry paintings.

My Students

How can we expect them to write their name if they can't even hold a pencil? My students need PLAY-DOH to work on developing their fine motor skills.

I work in a high poverty school and the majority my students have not attended preschool.

They lack the foundational skills necessary for entering kindergarten. They need the opportunity to speak, touch, play, and move as they are learning to read and write.

My Project

My students will use the PLAY-DOH to exercise their hands leading to more precise fine hand motor control. Students will be able to roll, squish, cut, and design masterpiece sculptures using the Super PLAY-DOH Tools. They will get to build three dimensional shapes while learning math and make alphabet letters reinforcing spacial concepts. The drying rack will be used to stack the wet paintings that are created on a weekly basis.

For many of my kindergarten students this will be their first time using PLAY-DOH.

They rarely have opportunities to engage in the creative process to create something unique. Giving them the opportunity to do a simple hands-on activity using PLAY-DOH provides them with time to explore and work on their fine motor skills. How can we expect them to write their name if they can't even hold a pencil!
