Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students choose to study Japanese and the beginning of their 3rd year they commit to a more rigorous 2 years of language study. The begin to prepare for the challenging IB Japanese exam the end of their senior year. My students work hard in and outside of class and my goals are to help them be organized and engaged in their learning. In addition, it is important for me to provide them with high quality instructional materials such as these kanji practice books to keep them challenged yet engaged. My plan is for each student to have their own book so they can feel more confident and responsible for their work. As students work on the assigned pages, they can see their own progress and have a record of it. These books are also good practice for students as they prepare for college!

The flashcards will be a great way for students of all abilities to work together and have fun doing so.

They have useful vocabulary that students need to practice and know for the challenging IB exam the end of their senior year. I visualize students using them in groups with different skill sets and powering up their reading of Japanese vocabulary together.
