My Students

I teach kindergarten in a rural area in Central Maine. My class size ranges between 13 and 17 children with differing needs and backgrounds. A significant number of my students live well below the poverty level.

I strive to empower the students to find success socially, emotionally, and developmentally.

When you walk in my classroom you will find my students working together on a variety of fine and gross motor activities that help them meet their ever changing academic needs.

My Project

My kindergarten students come to me lacking fine motor and gross motor skills. They need practice during the school day to help them develop these skills. These materials will give them a variety of opportunities to help them stay engaged.

I want my students to have every opportunity available to be successful.

Some children have a difficult time regulating the amount of force of touch. Hand and Feet Markers will give them different ways to practice. The balance discs and Monkey Balance Boards will help them develop core muscle strength.

When children's fine motor and gross motor needs are met they are better able to focus on the academic tasks that are required of them.
