Our school is located in an urban area where all students receive a free lunch. Many of the children do not have access to basic school supplies. The children are inspired with a curiosity to learn and succeed. We are a kindergarten through sixth grade school.
Our school is a place where students feel safe and respected, and ready to learn.
We have a very limited budget at our school with limited or no supplies. Many things I have to buy myself and I need help.
This project will allow the students to have a math tool kit that can be stored in their desk. The tool kit contains math manipulatives for solving math problems and concepts.
The students will have access to materials to engage and motivate them while learning.
Students get excited when they have materials that they are responsible for helping them learn. The kit includes a number line, a ten frame, base ten blocks, and pattern blocks. The nice thing about the tool kit is I can add in additional items they we will need as we learn new concepts such as money, measurement and time.
