This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These hard-working students attend a Title I city school and are 97% African American learners with a sustainable special education population. The majority of the students are functioning slightly below reading comprehension levels according to the district's projections. These students are low performing in the area of math. They are a fun-loving, creative group who are "owning" their learning as best they can. This community of learners are prepared to work to succeed; they understand their roles and responsibilities as it relates to their education.
My Project
These privacy boards can be beneficial to my students during independent work and testing drills. They need additional support with being on task and focused on the work. These boards can improve their test-taking strategies and minimize the pressures and distractions from their peers.
Having privacy boards for testing modes can help individual students gain a sense of confidence and liberty to process their own ideas and apply strategies.
When students feel more focused and calm during independent drills or assessments, they can better apply themselves to the work at hand.
Please help us regain our focus and attention with the use of these privacy boards while we learn!
