Help me give my students a Growth Mindset! I want my students to understand the power of mistakes, the power of the word YET, and allow them the opportunity to accomplish all their goals!
I am a Montessori children's house teacher (pre-k & Kinder). The older children model behavior for the younger, and give them lessons once they've been mastered.
Growth Mindset (GM) is a social-emotional strategy that was created by Carol Dweck for adults who gave up after failure.
It has recently been adapted for children.
She created the book with the same name, which honors the belief that intelligence and other qualities, abilities, and talents can be improved with effort, learning, and dedication over time.
She established the power of "YET" and making mistakes and how important mistakes are to our learning. I would like to have the recommended children's books relating to GM, plus the teacher's reference books for teaching a GM to their students.
These GM strategies will stay with them for a lifetime!
