My Students

I will have quite a diverse class during the upcoming (and quickly approaching!) year. Because of that, I am doing everything I can to prepare our classroom to fit ALL of their needs. It has always been a dream of mine to have flexible seating in my classroom in order to accommodate, support and CELEBRATE my students' differences as learners. I hope my students see that it is good to be unique, and each individual makes our classroom a better place.

My Project

These materials, balance balls & wobble cushions, will absolutely impact student success in my classroom. Research has shown time and time again that when given a variety of options for seating, students flourish. When students have control of their environment, they become more invested in their learning! Every time a student thinks about which type of seating is best for them, they are reflecting on their own learning. Self reflection is huge for young students, and leads to even more growth academically and emotionally. I would be so excited to help my students grow and learn as much as possible this year and many years to come.
