Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Throughout the academic year of 2023-2024, our focus was on nurturing the scientist within each of us. Our classrooms became a hive of activity, with an abundance of school supplies being utilized in our hands-on learning pursuits. As the year concluded, we bid farewell to dried-up markers, worn-out colored pencils, empty tape dispensers, messy and old page protectors and scissors that had seen better days—a testament to the dynamic experiments and bustling activities that had taken place. It was evident that our science class had been a center of innovation and exploration, fostering a plethora of imaginative projects to enhance student comprehension.
Reflecting on this enriching journey, I am compelled to ensure a similar experience for my future students.
Recognizing the importance of a well-equipped learning environment, I have taken steps to overhaul our classroom supplies. Introducing a standing desk is one such enhancement aimed at mitigating the health risks associated with prolonged sitting. By encouraging students to stand, we promote better posture, improved blood circulation, and enhanced muscular engagement. Many students have found that this change positively impacts their efficiency, concentration, and overall productivity.
Embracing a standing desk isn't merely a practical choice; it's a lifestyle decision that can significantly enhance our well-being. It's a small adjustment with potentially significant benefits.
My objective is to procure these resources well in advance to ensure they are readily available for the commencement of the new academic year in late August. These supplies will play a crucial role in our scientific pursuits, supporting both structured projects and everyday instruction.
