Every child has the right to their education, to become the best version of themselves. In order to do this, I believe it is critical to provide scholars with the necessary tools and experiences to learn.
The opportunity to watch my scholars grow and get excited about learning is what keeps me excited about teaching!
Getting to support a group of 23 sweet, thoughtful, kind, strong-willed learners is what gets me going every day.
I get to support and inspire kindergartners through third-grade students with disabilities that get in the way of their excitement about learning. All of these learners put forth so much grit every day and try to put their home lives to the side to better themselves. I need them to have what they deserve to be successful.
My Project
The project will increase student engagement and improve student confidence. This project takes the skills that we all need to become better readers and makes it more game-like.
Student engagement is the key piece in the reading puzzle.
With these tools, my students will become more independent and more confident readers. As they grow their skills as a reader they will start to enjoy reading more.
Each of these tools can be used for readers at different places in their learning. As each student becomes more confident the same tool can be used in a more intense way.
