Do you remember wanting to write stories and not being able to remember how to spell the words you wanted to use.
The students in my first grade class are excited to write and read on their own.
Often I am asked "Teacher how do you spell...?"
Currently my class has two picture dictionaries. They are always in use. The students in my class would benefit from having a class set of dictionaries that they can use.
My Project
These dictionaries have pictures in them. The students sound out the first few sounds in the word they are trying to spell and then match the word with the picture for the correct spelling. A lot of the pictures are realistic. These dictionaries will help the students learn alphabetical order.
This project is very important to students because I have many students that could use these books.
I have many English Language learners that would benefit from the pictures. The two dictionaries that my class currently has,are always in use.
