As an avid reader and bookworm myself, I strive to develop and encourage the love of reading in my Kindergarten students. By providing them with engaging, educational Literacy games, they will be exposed to concepts that are essential to beginning readers, like rhyming and phonemic awareness which will hopefully lead to a lifetime love of reading.
Most Kindergarten students come in with an enthusiasm for learning and many of the materials I've chosen help promote learning through play.
In addition to the fun literacy games like the Lakeshore Rhyming House and the Find A Letter activity center, I have also picked some classroom items that we use on a daily basis, like headphones, dry-erase boards, and Expo markers. An added benefit to some of these games is that they help in developing fine motor skills.
