My Students
There are many people who don't enjoy their job very much. One reason could be that they don't work with 10-year-olds. Ten-year-olds, (MY 34 ten-year-olds) are enthusiastic, loving, curious, chatty, fun, and kind. These children are a joy to work with, and I want to do all I can to best serve them. They deserve my best, and they deserve the best from the community as well.
These ten-yea-olds are hard workers, and it's not like they have things easy.
They don't come from affluent areas. They come from broken homes and even have language and learning barriers. But they persevere, and that is why I admire them and love working with them so much.
My Project
All research has shown that elementary school children need to MOVE. I have seen it myself in other classrooms that have alternative seating options. There is a profound effect of increased focus.
Children can't learn if they can't focus, and alternative seating options increase a child's success dramatically.
Even a child willing to learn suffers in a still seated position for an extended period of time. If you give them an outlet for these innate "wiggles," their success in school and in life increases. These stools we are requesting are especially made for children to be in one spot but to be able to sway as they listen. These stools take the attention off being uncomfortable in a stable chair and put the students' attention on the lesson.
I appreciate you simply considering funding us and improving our classroom environment. We very much appreciate it.
