Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I want to be able to meet all of the learning needs of my students. Each child deserves to have those needs met and these resources will help me take a great leap forward in meeting those needs.

I teach second grade intellectually gifted students.

My district does an excellent job of identifying the intellectually gifted children and I strive to meet their educational needs. However, often, there are other special needs that individual students have. I want to offer a classroom that provides the resources for those needs.

My Project

The classroom light filters are to help students with migraines or epilepsy who often have issues with the harsh fluorescent lighting in the classroom. The blue filters will offer a calming effect for the students with ADD/ADHD. The varied sizes of cover overlays also offer assistance for students with ADHD, dyslexia, and epilepsy. Although my students have been identified as intellectually gifted, that fact does not exclude them from having other needs. Having these resources will only further help me to meet ALL of their learning needs.

I want my students to walk into a safe learning environment that meets their individual needs.

The needs of students are so varied that it is often difficult to provide resources to meet them all. Please help me to meet ALL of the learning needs of each of my individual students. They deserve it!
