Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Dramatic play is one of the most important learning experiences in Kindergarten. It teaches social skills and creativity. I plan to use the dollhouse for part of my social emotional curriculum for my low socioeconomic students.

Dramatic play, especially when acting out family values and real life experiences, helps Kindergarteners to learn about their environments.

Acting out feelings during play regarding positive and negative situations helps them with coping skills and expression. It teaches them to work together, learn empathy, and helps them feel connected to themselves and their peers.

The dinosaurs are another form of dramatic play and can be used for learning to count and and learn a 1 to 1 correspondence. I plan to use the dinosaurs for more engagement in math because learning through play makes math more concrete.
