My Students

I teach in a small rural school close to the Apalachicola National Forest. Last year, our students and families were hit hard by Hurricane Michael. The students were amazing through all the disaster and trauma. They came back to school ready to learn even though life was not the same for them. That’s what makes our school and community so special. We are family. We take care of students as our own. I am so blessed to teach in a school like this.

My Project

All kids need to learn no matter what circumstances arise. Now even more today we are facing that challenge. With schools closed students are having to be taught and learn from home instead of school. Many of my students do not even have a computer in the house which makes this new kind of learning even harder. By purchasing these computers this would allow my students the opportunity to have a computer and take part in the online learning that is being offered. What a difference that would make in the education of a child. There are already so many burdens and hardships that families are facing. These laptops would make learning less difficult and enjoyable.
