My Students
"A place for everything, everything in its place."-Benjamin Franklin. One of my goals each school year is to teach my students to keep their materials neat and organized that way they can always have easy access to their work or materials they need. My Kindergarteners are enthusiastic, inquisitive and wiggly! They belong to a dual Spanish Immersion program located in an inner city school where the poverty and need is very common. Our elementary school is a PK-6 with about 900 students, 38 teachers, and of course budget cuts that impact their education. 100% of our students receive free lunch.
My Project
My students work on several literacy independent centers daily during our Guided Reading block. While I work with small reading groups, my students each have literacy center work that they have to complete. To help my students start their work promptly; I would for them to have these supply small group centers so that they have everything they need to get started on their work. "I can't find my pencil." will no longer be an excuse or stop anyone from going to a center and getting started on their work. Each of the supply centers will have plenty of pencils, glue sticks, scissors and anything else they need to complete their work. Your donations to this project will help my students keep all of our independent work time center materials organized. These organization supply centers and the tabletop writing center will provide my small groups with all the materials they need to independently complete their assignments.
