Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are like my second family. I teach in a low-income school with many students coming from poverty. This does not mean that they should not get to experience sports like so many other students at other schools. We are desperately needing new baseball and softball equipment for our Spring unit. Our funding for our small rural school is extremely limited for our P.E. department. I am the only teacher who teaches our K-8 P.E. units.
I would love to continue teaching a unit on Softball and Baseball this Spring but tons of our equipment is past its prime.
Being a small rural school P.E. teacher many of my students are only exposed to these sports if I choose to teach them. Softball and baseball are newer sports to my students and I am limited by the amount of equipment that I currently have. I know my students will love this sport and were excited to find out that I am putting this request out to DonorsChoose.org. Every time we get new equipment, the smiles on my students' faces are priceless. This can only be accomplished through your help!
