My students need both a printer and a digital camera because we started a project in December and need these tools to better serve it and reinforce what they've learned.

My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you started a project, whether a lemonade stand or a baby sitting service and then it stalled. You wanted to get the information out there. But how?
I work in a NYC DOE District 75 school, meaning all of the students are severely disabled, either physically or intellectually.
It is a high school/ occupational training center which is solely geared toward post graduation (21 years old). All of my students are classified as having autism, some more severe than others. But I see potential in every one of them. They have there own personalities and idiosyncrasies as any other human being. I do my best to bring out the best in each one.
My Project
I am asking ABC Family to help fund the materials needed to get information to the community about a project my class, along with another, started in December. We started by making sandwiches for a local food pantry and with materials and appliances funded by generous individuals and companies through Donor's Choosewe started making home baked goods as well, cupcakes and banana bread- so far. As with many well intentioned projects, the initial wave of contributions and donations have subsided and we are nearing the end of our budget. We need a camera and printer to get our message out there- to show the community all the good we are doing and ask their help for further support by sending out flyers and photos. ABC Family has helped our cause thus far and I hope they will continue helping our effort to help our children help others.
This project is important in so many ways.
My original intention of "Now You're Cooking" was based on special needs children learning basic life skills. As time passed, and ideas materialized, my students are learning great life skills AND helping others in need. We are now giving the products my students have made to a local food pantry. We need the materials requested to get our information to the community to ask for their support by literally showing them what we've been doing.
