This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our student body is huge. Amidst all the hustle and bustle and huge crowds, I'm lucky to have incredible students.

My students are clever, innovative, and funny - they have a unique tenacity that will take them places - with your support.

I primarily work with freshmen and teach them in a unique Freshman Seminar class. In a way, I am more than a teacher to them. I'm a counselor and guide to high school, teaching academic and life skills every day. I truly care for them and it is a joy to work with them each day.

My Project

I have the privilege of teaching a unique course this year: Freshman Seminar. Freshman Seminar is a class that is designed to help students learn skills relating to life. We start the year teaching kids how to use their assignment notebooks. By the middle of the year, we're discussing the origins of anger and how to stop bullying. By the end of the year, I'm preparing my students to engage in acts of social justice and service.

Through teaching them all these life skills, I'd love to equip them with the helpful tools in this book to tackle stress and be successful!
