This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have the best online program to improve our students’ reading skills! It was piloted last year with AMAZING RESULTS and now we want to go school-wide! But for this program to work, our students need headsets that have microphones.

Your donation will directly help children that live in poverty improve their reading skills!

As the student reads with the program, they are prompted and corrected. Data on their reading growth is collected and tracked. But, because I have a very full classroom, without headsets with microphones, the program picks up background noise and is not accurate. The program also allows me to listen to my students read at home. I listen to my students’ recordings and quickly identify the skill that we need to work on the very next day. This helps us correct mistakes when they are still small.
