Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are always happy, eager, fun-loving, and excited to be at school. For many of them, this is their first full-day experience with school, learning, and making friends. They are excited about the small things, like using crayons for the first time or a new game! Often times, students do not have the supplies/equipment to do fun and engaging activities at home!

Students do not get the opportunity to develop friendships, social skills, and manners through play at home.

They come shy and not knowing a lot about the social and academic aspects of life. Within the year, many learn to read, develop a love of books, numbers, and most importantly, they have fun doing it. My students break out of their shell and develop friendships, learn manners, sharing, and how to navigate situations. This would not be made possible if we didn't have the appropriate equipment in the classroom. Please help me fill my room with new, updated items for the kids to enjoy, explore, and learn from!

My Project

Help me provide engaging, hands-on learning materials for my little ones to strengthen their fine motor skills through the use of puzzles, sensory objects, tweezers and manipulative while also practicing skills in literacy, math, and writing.

Fine motor development is essential to our little ones as it exercises the small muscles in their hands, helping them to complete important tasks such as writing, drawing, self-care and every day tasks which will in return help a child’s self esteem and confidence to increase.

The materials requested will be essential when completing small group, one-on-one instruction or individual learning time. My hopes are with these hands-on learning I will be able to prepare my little ones to be as independent as possible, prepare them for their future in school and in life.
