Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, I’m creating a classroom where every student can thrive, regardless of ability. I’m fortunate to have students returning to me who are impacted by autism and other disabilities. Many of these students spend much of their day in separate settings, but my goal is to build a space that helps them participate more fully in our classroom community.
To do that, I’m requesting inclusive and adaptive tools like a First-Then board, noise-canceling headphones, and standing desks that will help students self-regulate, understand routines, and access learning comfortably.
I’m also requesting stools to support all students with flexible seating that promotes focus, choice, and movement.
With your support, I can create a learning environment that honors neurodiversity, promotes belonging, and ensures every child feels seen, supported, and included.
