My Students

I strive to make my classroom and instruction a fun, engaging, and safe space for my students. This is my second year teaching 4th grade Reading and in these 2 years, I've found that this type of environment is what children need to succeed.

One thing I love about being the 4th grade Reading teacher is instilling a love for books and reading in the students.

In 4th grade, the students are challenged with intensive reading where they are encouraged to use strategies to comprehend critical thinking passages and in-depth vocabulary. My goal is to make these reading passages and vocabulary enhancement more interesting through engaging instruction.

My Project

Get Your Teach On is a national professional development conference over a period of 3 days for teachers to learn interesting and engaging strategies to get students excited about learning. I will incorporate activities and lessons learned at this conference into my everyday instruction to make my classroom a safe, loving, and effective environment for my students.

When the instruction is meaningful and engaging to students, they are more likely to succeed over doing worksheets all day.

My hope is to learn techniques and strategies that will help students truly enjoy what they are being taught. The more interested they are in learning, the more successful they will be in their education.
