Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 3rd-grade teacher that gets the pleasure of teaching a group of inquisitive students who love hands-on activities. Although I teach 3rd grade I also have the opportunity to teach enrichment classes to other students in 3rd -6th grade.

My students are scholars, explorers, inventors, and artists who have a love for learning and come from many different socioeconomic backgrounds.

I love having the opportunity to introduce new concepts and strategies to them. To have a part in helping them learn about the world we live in is a gift. The idea that I could help my students develop new passions and interests to continue on this path of exploration is what makes me love what I do.

My Project

So often I hear of educators who get stuck in a rut. Between the pressures of standardized testing, budget cuts, and time constraints it is easy to become overwhelmed and stick to safe and sometimes boring routines.

I teach students who need movement, creativity, and wonder incorporated into their everyday education in order to be successful.

It is so important to me to remember that if I want to be an effective teacher I need to be able to provide my students with inspiration as well as information.

For months I have been observing pictures and videos of the amazing “Get Your Teach On” conferences that are being held across the nation. The conferences provide seminars from award-winning teachers with amazing techniques & strategies that focus on student engagement.

I was so excited to learn that there will be a conference in my state this June. The information I gain from attending “ Get Your Teach On SanDiego” will help me to continually make education an adventure for my students. This opportunity is something that I cannot put a price on. I would be very grateful for any support you can give. I look forward to having the opportunity to grow as a teacher and in turn the ability to help my students to grow.
