This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me fund my classroom library. My new school has a new alternative education program which I am the teacher for, my students come from diverse backgrounds both racial, cultural, and economic. Students who are placed in my class are usually the students who have nowhere else to go, they’re too disruptive or can’t learn in the general classes and more often than not don’t come from a positive home environment. Although a small step, these books can help me make a difference with them. These books discuss different matters of race and social-economic issues, it is my hope that they will read these books and find the motivation to get their education and make the most of what they have and what I can provide to them.
