Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are just 6 and 7 years old they love to learn, we all are fully bilingual, bi-cultural and like books. After teaching my students about phonological awareness and star reading they are ready to read more books, but my classroom and library in the school don't have enough or age appropriate for them. This amazing kids love to learn about nature and the word around them, we use some Ebook with the computer, but nothing like reading a book at that young age.
My Project
We need this book to make reading a fun and exciting activity. Having new books will make them even more interest reading and will be great for reading fluency, out school has a really small population of Spanish speakers and do not have enough resources to help me with reading. This books I know will benefit the others bilingual classrooms as well, is only one class per grade with the bilingual program and more than 85% are low income too. We need more books to make reading the most important subject in the classroom and create a new habit for them.
