This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the next few months, my students will be learning about different pets. How we care for them, their habitats, what they eat, vet visits, etc. The materials I would like for our class are the 20 plush dogs with the adoption papers. I want my students to learn that there are many pets in shelters who need love and support. If my students can experience a pretend adoption with the plush puppies it will make a great impact in their social emotional development.

Please help my students learn and develop empathy through play with a vet clinic and a WOW experience as they adopt a pet.

I would also like to transform our dramatic play area into an animal hospital. The plush pets with crates will give students an experience of pretending they have a pet patient. The stickers will help me motivate them and encourage positive behavior. As a preschool teacher, a sticker goes a long way! Your support will help my kiddos enhance their developmental areas in early childhood: Social-Emotional, Literacy & Language, and English Language Development.
