The book, On my First Day of Kindergarten,\" students learned social skills. They know they will make new friends and we practiced how will look and how to approach new friends. \r\n\r\nThe way reading looks like in the classroom is during large group, I start off by going over three to four vocabulary words. Thanks to technology I show images and moving images through gifs. Then I begin to read, highlighting those vocabulary words, title, author and illustrator. I ask the kiddos questions or make comments. Students also make comments or ask questions. Since breakfast and lunch are served in the classroom we also provide reading during that time while they eat. Our students enjoy listening to stories but in particular this one because most are transitioning to Kindergarten or Universal Transitional Kindergarten, and like they say, \"To the big school.\" \r\n\r\nThanks again for all your donations in making this project come to life. My students where excited to find out what was in the boxes when introduced I had a surprised that they would be able to be to dig in with the kinetic sand.
