This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work at a Title I school where we have a lot of students that speak many different languages. Communication with students and parents can be challenging when you don’t speak the language as many things can get lost in translation.
The pocket translator will help me communicate with students that do not speak English.
This pocket translator will help me teach clearly to those that do not understand English. It will help me connect with students and families as well.
Forming a connection and making sure students and families understand me is imperative to my first grade classroom. Please help me make all families feel welcome regardless of the language they speak.
