This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's Back to School, back to routines and back to school work. As we make our way back into the classroom for a productive, positive school year, my student's are excited and HUNGRY. With a wide diversity of learners with learning gaps, one fact remains constant: Middle school students love rewards. As a Language Arts teacher, I am faced with the reality that some students don't enjoy reading, writing and grammar. Furthermore, some students are not happy about being back in the classroom. However, they do love snacks! With a wide variety of snacks, I can reward my students' who do the right thing, increase learning morale and motivation.
With a basic Google search on snacks and students, it resulted in the following statement, "They can attract students' interests, foster good learning habits, establish a positive learning atmosphere, and increase students' motivation.
" A wide variety of snacks would reinforce that each student is unique and special as well as adhere to dietary restrictions. In addition, posters in my classroom will provide guidance and inspiration to keep trying and not give up.
